craftsmanship varies
Differences among monofilament craftsmanship varies as vast as hair replacement's human hair quality.
Monofilament description:
Made up of thousands of tiny air holes, each separated by a fine transparent monofilament
fiber which is micro welded to give each strand of hair a durable receptive site.
Thin polyurethane at the front and parting into which hair is implanted strand by strand to give
the effect of hair growing from the scalp even under a microscope. The edge cannot be felt or seen from a close as 6 inches.
Finest monofilament mesh is used on the top and back to give maximum ventilation for cooler comfort and harder wear.
Hair is hand knotted into the mesh foundation one hair at a time for maximum realism.

a competitors mono top hairpiece that has been worn. The plastic fabric around the
circumference is stiff, does not conform in the same movement as the burlap type mesh and has
lifted up from the burlap monofilament in areas. Appears that
some one made this at home but that is not the case with this particular
piece. It would be impossible to part this when worn and have the
appearance of the hair growing from the scalp.
