Hair's Texture is consisting of the density to each hair's thickness
Hair texture in the photo
above is medium; model on left, not thick or super fine.
Model on right has very
fine hair.
Body is added with
color and highlights and the use of professional
hair products, also a large
barrel (1 & 1/2" to 2") curling iron in the crown.
This style can work on ALL
hair textures unless you have extreme hair loss.
With fine thinning hair or
hair loss you can perfectly
achieve this style with one
of our beautiful hairpieces.

Fine hair is very very thin / small in depth,
and fittingly to be weightless and flyaway. Frequently,
it's quite straight and won't hold a curl effortlessly.
However "my hair" is fine, somewhat thin on top wavy with a
sporadic strong natural curl pattern with frizz and
holds a curl very well with a body perm that takes 5 minutes.
My hair curls in 5 minutes because:
I have natural curl that needs a little more structure.
I color and high light my hair.
I have fine, thin hair and can break off or frizz quickly.
My hair does not show a true wave pattern while processing.
I use the Iso Perm #2. Quite honestly this is the greatest
perm my hair has ever had yes, on tinted and highlighted hair also.
I use large purple to orange rods. For most...this is not very much curl.
If your hair does not curl well to begin with...this rod size is not for you.
You will need purple and white or white and gray rods.
This is a professional perm for hairstylist's usage only.
If you have fragile hair that damages easily,
you might ask your stylist to check the curl pattern
more frequently such as every 5 minutes.
I also advise giving a hairstylist who you like a second chance
(unless they really mess up) if they at first do not get
the proper curl formation. Remember a hair stylist needs
to "get to know" your hair prior to perming especially
if your hair is fragile to begin with.
They "get to know" your hair by cutting and styling several times.
Most and foremost; your hair stylist wants to please you!
Make an appointment for a consultation only prior to perming.
If you do not have a stylist make several appointments in
various salons for consultations.
Some hair stylists charge for consultations, some do not.
Look for a stylist who is open, caring, knowledgeable,
willing to listen to your needs.
Do not be afraid to ask questions,
however be prepared for questions to be asked of you by the stylist
regarding what you desire in a hair style.
Choose the stylist who best communicates with you and seems to
understand your past experiences,
your needs and desires for the "perfect" hairstyle.

Fine hair with a body perm
If your hair is not
flyaway or fine, thick and coarse,
it is medium. You should consider
yourself blessed,
as your hair texture is the most prevalent and most
manageable.
This hair texture holds the curl
longer and is easiest to style.
A few
highlights here and there will give the benefit of added body
and the chunky
highlighting enhances a straight hair styles
when the
straight styles just seem to do nothing for your facial shape.
If you are considering a perm
talk to your stylist about body only.
Coarse
hair has a thick diameter and frequently, may have rough
(raised) feeling cuticle and has a tendency to not show a full test curl
with a perm. Your perms last the longest and most likely you will
will get tired of the perm before it is gone. BUT! You
may just seem to need a perm for your hair to do anything
because it is so heavy to begin with. Frequently cutting a perm will help
relax the curl if it is too curly. The only way a permed curl goes away is
by cutting or using a chemical relaxor. You
can use moisturizers and other hair products for loosening the curl. These
products will not take the curl away forever. If the perm curl falls out, it has
not been processed properly. Course thick
hair generally styles better with some type of layering. this removes
the bulk that can give the pyramid look in a hair style.
